About

Has trying to mimic the look of a certain photograph left you feeling frustrated? Do not give up on your photography dreams just yet! Photography for Everyday Amateurs is here to take the mystery out of some of your favorite photos. I will take you behind the scenes and explain some of the techniques photographers use to accomplish that professional appearance you are looking for. This blog is designed for DSLR photographers who already have a basic understanding of their camera, but want to add a few more tricks to their arsenal of photography knowledge!

My name is Matt Platz and I am a photographer. I am 23 years old, and I have been performing photography as a hobby for the past six years. I have photographed everything from family portraits to my favorite bands on stage. I too was a beginner at one point, and know exactly how frustrating it can be. There is such an abundance of information on beginning photography available that it can be hard to find what you are looking for. My blog will focus on specific, goal oriented tasks that beginning photography forums will not deliver. I will take you more in depth and show you the tricks that can only be learned through experience.
